How it works?

Arch Red Guest Service in practice: See here how to start using the service.

Arch Red Guest Service provides to interfaces for the customer:

  • WWW interface for users for creating guest accounts
  • RADIUS interface for network equipment to authenticating guest accounts

Setting up

During the service setup Arch Red installs and configures Arch Red Guest Server for the customer. The installation happens on the global infrastructure service provider platform.

The RADIUS interface is connected to the customer's WLAN controller, RADIUS server or other equipment the customer uses. The certificate for the WWW user interface is purchased by Arch Red or supplied by the customer.

After the initial setup comes the proof-of-concept period for testing and finalising the setup. During the testing the functionality of WWW and RADIUS interfaces is checked and approved by the customer.

Using the service

During the production, the customer's users create guest accounts with the WWW interface based on the customer policies. The customer's network equipment handles the guest authentication during meetings, conferences and other events.

Arch Red is responsible for service administration. Administration includes operating system, Arch Red Guest Server and RADIUS updates and backups and capacity and resource monitoring. The customer receives reports on service use from Arch Red.

Arch Red also provides telephone and email support for issues related to Arch Red Guest Service.

The level of service provided by Arch Red is defined by Service Level Agreement (SLA). The SLA is a part of the service contract.

The service is designed to be flexible for the customer. For example, adding or removing locations to the service can be done within the SLA without needing to renegotiate the service contract. Arch Red's telephone and email support is available for assisting with the changes.

When the service ends

Giving up the service is simple. Arch Red provides the service for a fixed period. When the customer no longer needs the service, there are no servers, licenses or other resources that need to be taken care of.
