May 12, 2009. Arch Red today released version 2.6 of Arch Red Guest Server. Also released was updated, fully operational Guest Server online demo.

This Guest Server release highlights include new printing options, such as PDF labels for badges and label writers, advanced internationalization support for multiple character sets and special symbols, updated user interface and enhanced configuration options for system administrators responsible for setting up guest management services.

The online demo is a functional Guest Server giving the possibility to fully explore the user interface with the different user roles including administrator, basic and easy view roles. The demo lets you also test the enhanced internationalisation support. See how you can impress your guests by correctly including e.g., their name and affiliation information on printouts and emails.

Road to release

This release builds on both customer and Arch Red's internal feedback on previous versions. The roadmap for future releases includes LDAP integration as required by large organisations, service provider version for providing guest management as software as a service (SAAS) and continuous improvement based on customer and internal use.

Besides the web interface, the demo gives you the possiblity to use your own RADIUS clients and servers with the guest accounts you just created. Supported authentication methods include multiple wireless and wired authentication methods, including EAP methods used with Wi-Fi WPA and WPA2.

Supported platforms

Arch Red Guest Server runs on many platforms including, but not limited to, Ubuntu 8.04 and 6.06, Debian 4.0 and 5.0 and CentOS 5. The main requirement is basic support for PHP 5 and PostgreSQL.
